The New Freedom Program is a state contracted Medicaid In Home Waiver program that offers Medicaid recipients more choices about how to get help at home. The program gives elders and adults with disabilities the option to manage a flexible budget and decide for themselves what mix of services/goods will best meet their care needs. Individuals may use their service budgets to hire their own personal care aides as well as purchase items or services that help them live independently. The New Freedom program enables participants to remain in their homes while receiving these services, enjoying greater freedom and independence.
We assist participants in directing their own care by providing consultation and advice in development and management of their New Freedom budget. Consultants advise participants on how to gain access to needed services and helps procure services/items authorized on their plan.

Payment Methods
The New Freedom Medicaid Waiver program is funded jointly by state and federal funds. In some cases DSHS may determine that the Participant is required to pay for some part of these services.
