Nurse Delegation: CORE – $60

Offered as a Self-Study Course – workbook to read through/fill out exercises + DVD to help study with.
This class may be used towards 9 hours of your yearly continuing education credits.

This course prepares caregivers to accept nurse-delegated tasks, previously performed by a licensed person. CORE includes the role as a caregiver performing a delegated task, the role of the Registered Nurse Delegator, and the tasks that can be delegated including medication administration.

Please note that the practice exercises in the workbook MUST be completed in order to test, as this is what shows you have completed your self-study. Testing/retesting needs to be completed within 30 days of enrollment, and test dates are offered Tuesday mornings at 9am at either training location. Students need to register for a specific test date, but may switch to another test date within 30 day window if needed. Written exam must be passed with 80% or higher per State regulations. Students that do not return the DVD given to study with on their test date will be charged a $10 replacement fee before beginning their exam. DSHS requires that this course be offered in English. Interpreters cannot assist with testing. ESL dictionaries can be used. You do not need to repeat the course to continue to be qualified to be delegated.


Nurse Delegation: Special Focus on Diabetes – $40

May be used towards 3 hours of the yearly continuing education credits.

Prerequisite: proof of successful completion of Nurse Delegation Core (see above).

This course is the first step in preparing a nursing assistant to preform insulin injections as a delegated task. Please note that the practice exercises in the workbook MUST be completed in order to test, as this is what shows you have completed your self-study.
